Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a school teacher and her mother as a stay at home mom. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started singing and performing in the early years of her life. At the age 6, McCormick won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether the actress was keen to work in show business. McCormick got her first big task in 1964 when she appeared in a TV commercial featuring Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. A year later she was a guest on an additional company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was soon cast in The Brady Bunch La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1,200 youngsters to be the oldest of the three twins in The Brady Bunch TV show The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed together with Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons and The Brady Bunch was an enormous great success. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published In 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the TV show, she nearly lost her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. He was 19. She was 16. It could have been as she describes. However, the timing for our marriage was not the right one.
